USPS Proposes Increases to Postage Rates
The United States Postal Services has proposed postage rate increases to the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) which would mainly affect Market Dominant products. (Market Dominant products includes First Class Mail, Marketing Mail, Periodicals Mail, and Packing Services Mail).
On average, these rates would increase by 6.8% and would go into effect on August 29, 2021. Details of the proposed increases shown in the chart were presented in a June 1, 2021 article by Printing Impressions.
While First-Class mail will get the most attention because of its use by the entire US population, Marketing Mail will also notice an increase in their rates. A standard mailing of 10,000 pieces could see a potential postage increase of at least $100 from the current postage rates and that’s something that may affect your budget.
JHL will post updates to this news article as they are made available.
